SUMMARY

 The Corporate Controller serves as a key member of the Finance leadership team, overseeing and optimizing the execution of accounting, reporting, tax, payroll, and treasury operations.


CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for overall integrity and control of the financial data gathering and reporting process, ensuring the financial statements are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principals
  • Leads, motivates and directs the staff that is responsible for the following functions: general accounting, cost accounting, international accounting, sales controller, tax and treasury
  • Support LRP financial planning and budget management functions in collaboration with department managers
  • Serve on planning and policy-making committees and maintain corporate accounting and reporting policies
  • Oversee monthly close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Prepare and present the financial statements to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Act as a technical resource and advisor to the CFO
  • Partner with the CFO to design, establish and maintain an organizational structure that supports Ocean Spray’s objectives and goals
  • Recruit, train, evaluate and develop staff within the Corporate Controller department
  • Manage year-end audit with external auditors
  • Ability to think strategically, manage complexities, work collaboratively, and drive results
  • Ability to build effective teams
  • Communicates effectively at the board level

ATTRIBUTES & EXPERIENCES

  • Expert knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost control principals, tax and treasury operations
  • Strong knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems with a mindset in favor of process improvement and efficiency
  • Demonstrated strong financial, analytical, creative and problem-solving skills, as well as demonstrated abilities to be strategic and tactical
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business preferred
  • CPA required
  • 10+ years’ experience in Finance or Accounting function
  • 1-3 years’ experience at the mid-to-senior executive level
  • 3-5 years’ Public Accounting experience
