The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager will work collaboratively with employees to create a strong presence of safety to enable the prevention of workplace injuries and illnesses. This position will provide meaningful safety and health training that leads to strong knowledge transfer, and working with partners to develop advanced programs to prevent workplace hazards.  You will work cross functionally to ensure that health and safety is a value and continuously improved upon.

This is a full-time direct hire opportunity with an exciting producer and food processor headquartered in Hollister, CA.  This employer offers a very competitive salary and benefits package.

Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Comply with OSHA safety and health rules
  2. Coordinates safety training for all employees. Locations: Morgan Hill, Hollister and growing regions (Morgan Hill).
  3. Works with outside vendors, agencies, & all regulatory agencies.
  4. Investigates and report causes of accidents.
  5. Ammonia safety and training
  6. Maintain training documentation for all employees
  7. Documents and maintains Workers Comp files

Ideal Candidate will have the following qualifications (a combination of same may be considered):

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a business or science discipline or equivalent
  2. Hazardous Materials Management
  3. Occupational Safety and Health Management
  4. Strong experience and knowledge of safety and environment processes and procedures
  5. Strong leadership, training, problem solving and decision making skills
  6. Demonstrated organizational, communication, research and analytical skills
  7. Ability to effectively manage employee(s), programs, projects and consultants
  8. Ability to manage time and meet deadlines and targets within a fast moving environment
  9. Ten+ years of related experience
  10. CPR and Blood-borne pathogen certified helpful
  11. Bilingual, Spanish and English
