INTRODUCTION

Specialty grower/shipper of niche crops headquartered in Salinas, CA is hiring for the position of Harvest/Supply Chain Coordinator and Analyst.  Reporting to the Director of Customer Service, this key team member is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of the Company’s planting schedules, yield reporting and coordinates with sales. This position interfaces with internal staff via phone and email.  Direct hire (full-time) offering a competitive wage with full range of benefits including health, dental and vision insurance, retirement with employer match, paid time off and more!  Excellent opportunity for recent college graduate with the desire to eventually go into sales.  Training provided!  Strong Excel skills required.  Hours generally are 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Monday through Friday with an occasional Saturday morning.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (to include but are not limited to):

  • Develops and maintains needed forms for field data collection from Operations.
  • Is cross trained to provide coverage of the daily maintenance the company’s planting schedule(s).
  • Is cross trained to provide coverage of the daily/ weekly reports to growers and shippers for the Planting Manager
  • Prepares and remits all yield reporting actual and actual vs. budget.
  • Prepares daily and weekly harvest cost reporting for required crop(s)
  • Provides all per acre cost calculations and proper coding of growing costs for processing.
  • Documents responsible job tasks and processes

  • Other duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Order entry for assigned key customer accounts
  • Acknowledge and confirm shipper receivables on a timely basis
  • Maintain strong, respectful relationships with customers and shipper partners
  • Manage passings, no shows and shipper ETA's
  • Weekly Shipper Forecasts
  • Follow company policies and programs for safety with respect to personnel, equipment, products, property and security of proprietary and confidential information and materials.
  • Represent Company in an ethical and business-like manner in interactions with co-workers, suppliers, and the public.
  • Will perform other duties as instructed by supervisor.

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills and/or experience.  A combination of same may be considered.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in accounting preferred but not required...
  • Or... Bachelor's Degree in ag business or related major.  Entry level (training provided).
  • Previous work experience in a relevant role not necessarily required but helpful.  Agriculture experience or desire to work in produce industry.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.  Expert level skills in Excel and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with ERP systems, FAMOUS experience a plus.  Knowledge of Kiptraq helpful.
  • Ability to perform non-routine and complex mathematical calculations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet competing deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills, high level of accuracy, and attention to detail with excellent follow through.
  • Highly reliable with an ability to work overtime as required.

COMPENSATION RANGE:  $28.00 to $32.00 per hour (plus or minus) or salaried if appropriate - commensurate w/experience.  This is only an entry-level quote of a range that may be considered.  Compensation will be appropriate with level of experience.
